Don't adjust your computer, yes, I just put Jody (Fucking) Gerut as the top photo of the blog today. He must have done something great, you're asking and yes. Yes he did.
JFG hit a grand slam today that helped the Brewers earn a split with the Cubs, his lone hit of the ball game as the Crew won today, 7-4.
Not sure Gerut is famous for his bat around Milwaukee, his "stanky leg" dig into the left-handed batter's box has become his trademark, accompanied by his walk-up song's "UUUGGHH!" Yeah, he's not known for his bat.
Not that I'm changing my take on Gerut, he's hitting just over his weight at .217, and he's yet to be real consistent against the other options the team has in the outfield.
I'll also give credit to Mike Rivera, who had a two-run double. He's earning himself a spot on the roster next year as I think he'll be the catcher the team keeps over Jason Kendall.
Either way, it was a much needed win that capped a 5-2 road trip. Which Tom Haudricourt noted on Twitter was the first winning road trip since late May. It's been that bad.
Staying on baseball, I posted the story yesterday about the 3-year-old girl at the Phillies game that threw the ball back after her dad made a great catch. Well, she was on the Today Show today. Pretty good stuff. I'll just let you watch it.
On another video front, this is from the bloopers file. This guy in NYC was trying to say pluck and well, you can guess what he ended up saying. (Warning for those who don't like F bombs!)
Now to today's Nussie Hunter segment of the broadcast. I did have one idea to run Carmella DeCesare in this spot today, but when I hit up SI.com's Hot Clicks, my boy Jimmy Traina beat me to it. Even though she's the namesake for my awesome cat, Carmella, I'm going to Plan B. Hank Baskett signed today with the Indianapolis Colts, which means Kendra Wilkinson is coming to Indy. Wonder how she feels about still not being able to cheer for her Chargers. Either way, you get to enjoy her here.
