Did you think the Bears could beat the Cowboys? Be honest when you answer that! I know every single "expert" on Fox picked the Cowboys to roll without a second thought. You know what, I had my doubts, but check my picks on the last blog post. Yes, I'm a Bears fan, so I picked them, but be real here. They went on the road to a place not many teams can really go and win and you had to think many of the mistakes the Cowboys made in their loss to the Redskins would go away when they got to the friendly confines of Cowboys Stadium.
Well, they didn't and every time it looked like the Cowboys scored and looked like they were going to take over the game, Jay Cutler (and his 5 TDs and lone INT) led drives that got points with touchdown passes to Greg Olsen (beating an all-out blitz), Devin Hester (You are RIDICULOUS!) AND Matt Forte (after a missed FG that would have tied it to put the game away). Yes, this may be the Jay Cutler Jerry Angelo thought he was going to get when he traded a pair of first round picks and Kyle Orton for him.
Yes he took a ton of hits and at times looked to be in a ton of pain, but he persevered and made the big throws that everyone has been waiting for him to make.
Add to it the fact that the Bears defense allowed just 38 rushing yards on 22 attempts. Yes, this might be the beginning of something big. Heck, look around the division and the Vikings are 0-2, so things could be going in the Bears way.
As much as they'll say in the locker room over and over that they are not thinking about the "haters" when they came home with a win, you know they had some fresh crow ready to be served to the media at Halas Hall in Lake Forest.
Can't say you blame them. You can't put a lot of weight in an 0-4 preseason, but the way the Bears went 0-4 there wasn't a lot of positives you can take from it. You have to hand it to the team for being able to turn it on when it matters and do what they have done the first two weeks of the season.
Up next though is a visit from Clay Matthews, Aaron Rodgers and the Packers to Soldier Field on Monday Night Football. For six quarters they didn't look like the team many expected to see to start the season, but the second half of the Bills game last week was very impressive. Aaron Rodgers finally got the offense in a groove and Clay Matthews.... I'll say it again Clay Matthews. Yes he is a man beast and yes he has turned quarterbacks into his own rag doll through two games.
It's going to make for a great night on the Lake in Chi-City. I'll have my preview this weekend in what should be a great game and maybe one that is the Bears official coming out party. A win in this one and do the Bears become a sexy Super Bowl pick? Heck after this one, they could go undefeated into the bye week in Week 8 or even 6-1 with a loss. That's if things keep trending up. Yes, this team could be something special. We'll have to see how things unfold over the course of the week.
Alright, time to get on to the Nussie Hunter portion of this broadcast. In checking my "dude blogs" today I found some great stuff. I remember watching Holly Madison dating Hugh Hefner for something like seven years, but now she's single and is in UFC Magazine. All I can say is she looks incredible these days.
